The best plant app is the one you barely open
Care apps have a tendency to become their own hobby. Streaks for logging a watering, badges for photographing a leaf, a feed of other people's monsteras, a paywall around the humidity chart. All of it competes for attention with the actual plant, which is three feet away and does not need an app to be looked at.
Sprigwise is written to be closed. It tells you what a plant needs, reminds you when yours is due, and then stops. No feed, no streak, no account, no notification that exists only to bring you back. The measure of it working is that your plants are fine and you rarely think about the app at all.
Everything it knows is compiled into the download, so it answers the same on a train, in a garden centre basement, or with the wifi down.
Sprigwise
A friendly offline companion for houseplants: a detailed care library, your own collection, and gentle watering reminders. Every plant in the library comes with how often to water it, how much light it wants, ideal temperature and humidity, soil notes and the problems to watch for. Add the plants you actually own, give them names, and Sprigwise nudges you when each one is due — so nothing is forgotten, and nothing is drowned either.
Search the library instantly, filter by care level or light needs to find something that suits the room you have, and bookmark the ones you are still dreaming about. A glossary unpicks the jargon, and quick tips help when leaves droop or the soil dries out faster than it should.
Why "by the window" is not one place
Slide the pot across the floor. Nothing is being cared for here — this is only the one rule that decides more houseplant deaths than any other, drawn to scale.
One window, one pot, one variable. Sprigwise is the part this leaves out: what each species actually wants, which of your plants is due today, and the reminder that arrives whether or not you remembered to think about it.
